We raised vital funds and awareness for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC). They are the national charity supporting families and patients diagnosed with blood cancer.  LBC provide information booklets and children’s books about living with blood cancer and its treatments; they also produce resources for GPs, education programmes for families, and they run campaigns to raise awareness in our community of this terrible disease.  They receive NO government help, so we pitched in!

Did you know that EVERY DAY, SIX children and adults in NZ are diagnosed with blood cancer? LBC is their direct support.

My mum, Fran and I did some hard yards to help LBC by way of steps … some of the most difficult steps in the world … off the beaten track in China on the Great Wall. We trekked 50kms of tough, uneven terrain. We trained every week to get our level of fitness up to have the stamina to tackle the mighty steps. Nothing like the stamina required to tackle Leukaemia but a step in the right direction from those of us that are healthy to support those who are not so lucky.

Our friends, family, work colleagues and the public all helped our progress to spur us along with their donations to LBC.

It was a great cause, a challenge for us to raise more dollars and awareness for this amazing charity.

In raising as a team over $83,000 we would like to thanks all of you for your amazing support!

You are fabulous! Thanks again!!

Nicky and Fran
